Sellaronda Mtb Tour

Four legendary passes, single trails, breathtaking descents and lots of adrenaline

Thanks to the Sellaronda, skiers and cyclists can tour around one of the most majestic natural landscapes in the Dolomites: the Sella Group. This represents the heart of four valleys that wind in all directions from the Sella massif. The circular route leads over four passes and constantly offers visitors breathtaking views. All this makes the Sellaronda an absolutely cult route.

Our guides are happy to accompany you along this extraordinary bike tour in the Dolomites, one of the most important and renowned in South Tyrol: it is an impressive 58 kilometers long, runs along forest roads, alpine paths and trails, and takes about six and a half hours.

Tour clockwise

The Sellaronda clockwise route is particularly suitable for cyclists with a few hours of training behind them. Several lifts reduce the elevation gain from almost 4,000 to only 330 meters. This allows bikers to fully devote themselves to the pleasure of descending along the legendary trail. Enthusiastic alpine trails and alpine roads as well as high routes full of variation provide a feast for handlebar technicians. And the view of the majestic peaks of the Dolomites is the crowning glory of the Sellaronda experience. The start is in Selva Gardena, then up to Passo Gardena and down to Colfosco and Corvara in Val Badia. From here, thanks to the cable car, you regain altitude and enjoy the descent to Passo Campolongo, Arabba and Livinallongo del Col di Lana. The next stops are Passo Pordoi, Canazei and Campitello in Val di Fassa, equally well connected by cable cars. Then once again on the pedals to climb the Sella Pass and finally return to Selva Gardena. Comfortable mountain huts and cozy inns make the route even more perfect.

Tour anti-clockwise

Those planning to tackle the Sellaronda counterclockwise should know that this route variant differs markedly from its smaller sister. It begins in Selva Gardena and circumnavigates the Sella Group not only counterclockwise but also along another and more challenging route. Instead of five, only three lifts are used and the reduction in elevation gain is 2,400 meters. The remaining 1,020 meters pose a real challenge even for the best trained bikers. As a reward for the efforts, even this variant offers countless panoramic views of the majesty of the Dolomite peaks, while, on the edge of the trail, mountain huts and inns take turns to offer rest and refreshment.
Since it is advisable to tackle the Sellaronda counterclockwise accompanied by a qualified bike guide, our competent MTB guides can guarantee a trouble-free day.
