Ski Selection

Ski size is primarily based on your height, weight, age, and skiing level. In our online booking system, enter your body data and skill level to see suitable ski lengths for each category and model.

General Ski Length Guide

  • Beginners (Silver Ski): Shorter than your height, around chin–nose level. Easier to turn and forgiving.

  • Intermediate / Sporty Piste (Gold Ski): Between nose and full height. Good balance of stability and maneuverability.

  • Advanced / Expert (Platinum & Diamond Ski): Around or slightly above your height. Longer skis are more stable at higher speeds.

    • Slalom skis: Typically shorter (max 170 cm) for quick, reactive turns.

    • All-round skis: 5–15 cm shorter than your height.

    • Giant slalom skis: Can be longer than your height.

Ski Boots

  • Select your boot size based on your normal street shoe size.

  • If between sizes, smaller size often provides a more precise fit.

  • Boots should fit snugly, not painfully.

  • On-site fitting: Our experts will help you find the perfect fit.

Practical Tips

  • Standing: Toes may lightly touch the front.

  • Flex forward: Toes should slightly move away from the front.

  • Too big: Heel lifts or foot moves; reduces ski control.

  • Too small: Numb toes, strong pressure, or pain.

Wide or sensitive feet: A personal check on site is strongly recommended.  Our experts at Intersport Val Gardena will provide individual adjustments.

Helmets

  • Size is based on head circumference (cm).

  • Fine-tune with the helmet adjustment system.
